"Thank you for all the tremendous effort it takes to keep this program going. This year's corp was the best in a long time. Kudos to them all for their interest in our students and in their presentations that challenged our students to think carefully" Judy - 2008
Discovery School is a hands-on, field based outdoor education program designed for K-12th grade students. Teachers may choose field trips ranging from one up to three days at the Big Creek Outdoor Education Center. Discovery School curriculum and programs meet Montana state standards for math and science. Students study aquatic ecology, wildlife, forestry, fire ecology and many other outdoor subjects in the Flathead National Forest and Glacier National Park. Discovery School offers students and teachers a unique learning experience that takes the classroom outside and connects them directly with the Crown of the Continent ecosystem.
These programs are taught by the Glacier Institute staff, who are experienced in providing the best in outdoor education. Corporate and personal donations help make it possible for young students to experience affordable and unforgettable days at Big Creek.
